Week in a Post

Good Friday Is it? A day planned as a family outing to non-existent deities know where turned into a day at home. Spend the day running around after the family and on desultory attempts to tidy up. Felt shattered. Was home by 2.00 am this morning because Monst had a horrid vomit strewn ferry journey. Cal kipped. As ever I find myself awake when I need sleep having dragged them home so didn't get any kip 'til round three'ish. Woke at 7. Result I spend the afternoon asleep. This is not a problem but Monst want's to move Cal's room around and the fact that I sleep the day away does not go down well. The weather is nice so planned on getting out to tidy the garden a little (yes the tribe of pygmies at the end of the lawn are about to recieve their annual eviction notice, trouble is they declare squatters rights and Monst declares inside needs doing). Oddly I start reading the Easter Story in a stray online english translation of the vulgate (how ecumenical!). Why? Well it's years since I strayed into the thing and I wanna get the low down on the Easter gig in preparation for any questions Cal might have. Holy Saturday A day for tidying the house, deep joy. How much fun can you have. Monst trying to get some kip because she was working. The rain comes down. Return to tidying bits of house, furling and generally noodling around while cursing the fact that I've lost a days worth of good weather. Pissed off with the tidying, Monst ex-military wishes to adopt military standards to cleanliness, me peacenik that I am says sod that, as long as the house has an air of tidiness I'm happy. Not a happy time. Monst decides Cal needs a Playstation 2. Fine, we source that on the way to Stephanie's birthday party at Acorn farm. Nice to see Gemma and John and the party paper cup of red is incredibly welcome. The kids are noisy, I find myself doing a Falklands with the kids and the bogs (counting them in and out). I get the delight at laughing at townees complaining about the smell of pigs. Cal rides a pony called Sam, Monst has a headache and the kids and a pinata frankly terrify me. Home set up the Playstation and get terrified by Cal's driving skills. When leaving to take Monst to work mutter under my breath, remember this is a real car as a mantra to myself. Spookily find myself wanting to drive like a loon as a result of all that racing with Cal and drive far mor carefully as a result. Megan and Terry pop round an easter present for Cal and some Kinder eggs. Monst is asleep and I know we haven't got Danny anything even though we have Megan covered. Lie through my teeth and say I don't know where Monst has left the stuff. Feed ourselves on a fine curry from the Raj. Odd purchase though because I arrive at the same time as an old girl demanding money with menaces. Odd, scurry home for curry relieved to be out of it. Drop Monst at work and it's back to work for little me. Easter Sunday - Rolling Rock Day An odd day because I do ninja stealth tidying because Monst is a kip. Spend the day unaccountably pissed off because it's Beck's birthday (my little sister) and I have no way of wishing her a happy birthday because we've lost her number and also acutely aware that part of me still doesn't want to chat to her yet anyway because I'm still hacked off with her over her treatment of Monst (and probably if I'm honest the fact she hasn't apologised to me for the grief this has caused me) and can see myself losing my rag. I ring home instead and learn I couldn't contact her anyway because they're up in the mountains to use the last of the Norwegian snow. Easter Monday Finish the furling, hooray, feels like a long haul. House is now in a Mrs. Raven proof state (she tutors Cal who needs a little extra support beyond the work of the school) and who prompts the need for cleanliness. Cal proceeds to attempt to prove that you could eat your food off the living room floor, for some reason my sense of humour deserts me for a few minutes. Day of sorting Playstation issues too. Deep joy, but it amuses Cal as he pretends to be Scooby Doo. Nip to Asda and source easter present's for Danny and eggs for Megan and Danny. Monst when she wakes takes them round. Tuesday The Heath in the morning, Tracy left to introduce Nicola (have I spelt that right?) the new member of the Fade crew to the place. Welcome her via the wonders of Alexander Graham Bell. Couple of FoI request responses go out, sort a few other things. Head to Hammy pm. Head via Runcorn, get completely confuse d by a sign that declares Liverpool is 7 miles away then another that is only a mile down the road which amends it to 17. Runcorn is though a wormhole in the Space/Time/Distance continuum so shouldn't shock me. Pass opposite the Matchworks what I assume is a Cafe called 'Toast' but it is done up in black and looks like a funderal directors. How I wish it is a funeral directors, it's the sort of place I'd want to use but I do have a notoriously grim sense of humour. Nicola is full of questions which is a good thing. Poor girl has to put up with the answers but she's made inroads on the processing and shelving already. I'm impressed. Catalogue. Home, get dragged to Speke, Monst buys more games for the PS2 some DVDs and treats us all to pizza. In return I treaten the spiders in the bathroom with eviction. It pains me to do it because I like spiders but the one in the bath is a big fuck off kind of thing and neither Cal or Monst will go near the place while it is in residence. Wednesday Er.... it's only yesterday and I can't remember it. Tracy chasing invoices, cataloguing etc. We curse blogger which is down. If I remember more, more later.
