Ying and Yang or Three Halves of a Single Day

Reggie beckons and there is a coffee waiting on me provided by a very kind Tracy. Dig in finish the news and get it out. FoI comes to visit, having spent a week trying to talk to anyone at Gateway the batphone goes into overdrive and they're all chasing me! Alarming...... This disturbs my preparation for Thursday when I'm off to join the Moss Troopers up in Carlisle. Not ready so need to nip in Thursday morning to sort that. Nicola when you read this I forgot to thank you for your help with the packs but it was much appreciated.

Next stop is Croxteth Communiversity and a gig with the new Health Trainers as recommended by the last public health white paper. The gig is for a woman who made me wince with tales of the use of sellotape in the absence of a sports bra (empathy in this case is a bad thing - but it did make me laugh like a drain too!) Really nice bunch and far from the rejects from a PE department that I imagined when I read of the notion first in the white paper these are people who will make a difference. See lots of good public health folk there too. Fun, I enjoy it and I've grabbed a good set of books to demo, I loan a couple while I'm up there..... top stuff. Then back to Reggie for a quick 30 minutes.

Then hoof it to the School for an interim review meeting. Cal is now leaving the Speech and Language Unit, perfectly reasonable meeting, poor Monst gets a little upset but we see a way forward. Not impressed with the support in identifying where we go next though and this puts a downer on the end of the day.... Throw into the mix a call with a well meaning Kaushall who don't wanna listen....

Shit continues as Arsenal lose in Moscow, but Cal has a date with Investiture at Beavers so that's a positive I suppose!

He's a Reptile

Health Lizard (http://www.hlisd.org - Health Lizard is just my way of remembering the url) is becoming a bit of a regular haunt and to think I thought it was a daft idea. By far the best way to grab a phone number to harangue other poor health librarians. Even better they answer the phone which is more than some as I fail completely on one of my to-do-items (not that I'm bitter of course!).

Stevie P works on the server trying to sort mail facilities, it seems to be going our way I think. Top man as ever. Hope he has a good trip to Paris next week.

Discover I'm a wanted ciminal, some sort of parking fine comes in from the New Zealand Police Service. Don't remember finding a ticket on the car at Reefton, can't even find any evidence of having been there! Still guess I must have been and pay the fine ($40), deep joy!

As I manage to catalogue 'How to Speak Dragonese' on the library catalogue back in the UK from New Zealand...... Will delete the record when I get back but it is a fine testament to the ability of Liberty to work from anywhere. Meanwhile I am back at the laundrette as the rest of the family sleep having had a sleepless night.

The Horns Provide a Soulful Sound

Start playing with Joomla, experiments so far are far from successful. Another steep learning curve to scale. Still at least this is self inflicted and will prove valuable long term I hope. Uninstall and try again.... What am I not seeing... aaargh! ILLs module takes a bit of a bashing today in Liberty as Tracy and I (mainly Tracy) attempt to wrestle it into some sort of submission. Bit of a mixed bag of success. Need to sort the e-mail issues with Liberty. Spend 14 quid to help the cause, will speak again to Stevie P. tomorrow to give him the gen. Monst is Glasgae bound tomorrow to see her Aunt Margaret who is in the begining of renal failure, so Cal has to put up with me looking after him, Friday off to tidy the house and go to his sports day.
