Work to the background of the Virgin Queen. Don't think I'm gonna be anywhere near finished by tonight. Will follow that with 'The Gangs of New York'. Then sleep and an early start. Morning will not be helped by the need to bath Callum because he fell asleep on the way back home from dropping Monst at work.

Finish the bottle of red from yesterday. Bored, bored, bored.

Monst calls and chat idly about Cal and sleep.

Order of the Golden Fleece (Yes I know this is innacurate)

BBC History has a focus on the Carolingians (Medieval History is not my forte so I guess this is an opportunity for me to find a bit out about it).

Top site is the Internet Medieval Sourcebook which focuses on primary sources to give a flavour of the age. For an intro apparently Birkbeck's Medieval History Resources is good. For a serious academic set of links Simon Keynes provides them but really has a focus on the Anglo-Saxons. For pics of the monarchs in question Berkeley's Carolingian Kingship Images Site (loads of Charles the Bald) or the coins of the period can be found by searching the Fitzwilliam collection.

Meanwhile for those of us who remember the hamster taping venture leader, there is of course always the 'Song of Roland'.
