I'm a Celebrity Let Me in Here, One More Jump off the Pier

Today is my appointment with the RAC, they come on time, remove the offending wheel and drag me to Speke to 'Tom Tully and Daughters', tyre fitters to well to be honest anyone who turns up with dosh. The place reminds me of Crowmarsh's 'House of the Rising John's', I'm kind of impressed by the Daughters bit in the title good equitable ring about it. Not only are they helpful but they are cheery. The geezer from the RAC was a riot too, he votes for the death sentence, personally I don't - my theory is it's bloody hard to do much if you get it wrong if you've killed the poor bugger, still we find some common ground in dodgy small football grounds, now if Dave had been with us we'd have had the expert. I'm advised to change another tyre so once mobile its back to Tom's gaff. Throughout I'm in contact with Arrowe Park to warn them of my impending delay.

Drop into work to say a brief Happy Birthday to Nicola and drop off a small Tigger cake. Then under the water and off to Arrowe. Parking situation is terrible, can't be arsed with the park and ride it's not immediate enough for me so park at the park next door and walk over several football pitches through the mud. You could do quite a good forensic examination of the games going on the mud marks left by them.

The folk at Arrowe are as lovely as ever, some of my fave local librarians are there and they are sweet and nice to me. Session coulda been better though, I'm behind time etc. Not good due to puncture. On the way back to the car I respond to a message that has come to me on behalf of the new SHA, I'm the only person with a phone number on their new site where someone has picked up the phone (Nicola is the gem in question). Don't have the number of the person they want to hand as I retread over the footie pitches, give them a call from Liverpool where I find a nice portion of cake waiting on me. Deal with some DPA issues for Carol, JMU are taking the piss, then home and feed the family.

It was inevitably gonna happen some day so I venture into the murky world of the Podcast. Lest you think it'll be interesting it's just a reading of the Health News. My reasoning is that there may be those out there who'd rather have the health news read at them rather than read it themselves. OK I admit it it's me playing and a couple of rigid digits waving in a couple of directions! If you wanna suffer it you can download it here, please be warned I'm not used to the software and finding a quiet corner in the house was a nightmare. I apologise in advance for the odd fit of the giggles too. It gives me an excuse to play with Audacity and Podomatic. The results I didn't release were odd in the extreme..... too many effects to play with!

Lemmy's Mum was a Librarian

Voicemail tag - I get some voicemail from someone, I call them and leave voicemail, they call me and leave voicemail so I leave voicemail in return. Would I give anything for the voicemail system to have the conversation and then let us know what the hell it had decided.... it'd be so much simpler! Delve into the BMA site guided ably by someone from the library looking for resolutions from their Annual Representative Meeting, so much easier when you're told where they live! Once you find it though what simple thing to search.

FoI stuff happens, couple of searches happen. Odd nurse practitioner search, I keep it extremely tight, first time I've had a search result that only returns full text without me specifying it. OK it was only four articles but I sent them along with the search to the user. Freaky!

Assimilation happens which provides me with ample excuse to call Sally and Christina. Good to talk to them both.

Sort the Christmas goose, pick it up on the 23rd. Congratulating myself on sorting that I then hit a problem on returning home, I have a puncture. Now the Touran fails to supply a spare, instead there is a bottle of gunk and a compressor. So risking life and limb and squatting inches from the traffic I fill the tyre with the gunk and use the compressor. The compressor should work in 6 minutes, it' don't. Luckily I'm close to home. Call the RAC (my membership has lapsed and is renewed, sort it so I get a tow in the morning to the nearest Kwic Fit). Deep joy, I'm gonna be late at Arrowe, need to call them first thing to warn them.
