Morning and the library rocks to the sound of the Fratellis 'Costello Music', fine stuff. Prepare for today's corporate induction ably assisted by Tracy, some sort of assembly line going here, sort the news and Tracy sorts the cab that'll take us to the Holiday Inn. Not my fave venue for this sort of gig, way to corporate, we should be using community resources more.
Usual fight with Nonsense because I receive notification of a podcast from Ibrahim Hasan around FoI, the cunningly titled Freedom of Information Law Update 1 (Sep 2006) not that it gets in the way of that element of the process and the aggregator allows me to download the mp3 (dunno how long that'll continue). No the issue is that being me I want to know about Jellycast, what's the deal with it? Well I don't know at work because it falls foul of Nonsense (probably for good reason too but I haven't a scooby that is the case from work). Anyway to the podcast itself, sad git I am I find it interesting and informative and hope it continues to slip through the Nonsense net.
Some impressive work from Katherine over at St Helens on the
Practice Based Commissioning CAS stuff. Looks cleaner and simpler than the Aunt Sally version and good co-operative use of
Furl (original set up predates my use of
Blinklist and kinda falling out with Furl). I guess the stuff that impresses me most is the co-operative identification of material across the North West. Anyway, send the thing off to my commissioners and await reaction..... (light blue touch paper and run!)
Corporate Induction is an interesting gig, takes a couple of groups for me to warm up (apologies if anyone from the first couple of groups wanders in here). Feel rediculously pressured because AD from the LDB is checking out the whole scene as a delegate. How stupid is that, she should be just another punter. Not good.
Back at the library and I get a message from home directing me to read the
South Stoke News but I'm buggered if I can see Tony's obit. Still for those that know me some amusement may be found in the fact that I was baptised at St Andrews in the village. Throw into that the Perch is a pub that I had my age questioned in (post being 18 I might add) and had freebie drinks courtesy of Nick.....
Home, fetch the boy from Beavers and sent to the Ying Wah. Food and an evening preparing my study skills sesh for a crew of NVQ students is ahead.

Mind map the stuff I get up to today and need to do. It solves some little niggles that creep into my psyche as I can take it out on the paper with swathes of scratchy pencil. Not that today has been exceptionally bad, just a day where I've been more reliant on locating people I don't know and them getting back to me with sensible responses to my requests or at the very least a set of queries or contact names for folk that might be better placed to help me.
Nonsense is on it's usual Monday round of being all School Maam'y. Hopefully it'll follow it's usual routine of mellowing out over the rest of the week.
Highlight is of course the lovely Rachel from WFAS who brings me a metre of Jaffa Cakes!
