Cradle of Filth

So today has been a day of news and waiting to take Cal to Aaron's. Ring Paula, mother of Aaron and arrange to take the boy round at 2.00 pm. Good news for me because that'll give me time to get the three piece suite out onto the drive. Lest you think this is some bizarre gardening ploy to create an outside room it is in fact a response to the news that the coos are dead and the new three piece suite will arrive tomorrow. Add to that the fact that Knowsley's version of Bulky Bob is Puny Pete and they won't pick up the old suite until the 5th July and the explanation is there. If we're lucky some bugger'll nick it from the drive. To that end I won't park on the drive until the thing's gone and thus ensure it can be seen!

Disaster strikes, Paula is not in at 2.00, not answering her phone, but she is in as I return at 3.00. Cal has a couple of hours fun and I regret it as I get to see the first half of the England match. On pocking him up at half time I discover he has had his face painted, less in the flag of St George but the splodge of St Jude. Home and relief as England score is tempered by the fact that I'm arguing withn the boy over homework.

Portugal and the Netherlands provide filthy entertainment later........

Meanwhile I drop down the Fantasy League...... Technorati Tags: , , , , , , ,

It's Tough at the Top

Well I wasn't there long and Christina has gone top of the league now. The league within the league hots up. Friday Can't remember much of it, remember writing a reference (not my fave task on the planet). Remember arriving home, cooked something for the family, crawled into bed and slept. Did a load of sleepin because I didn't wake up until this morning. Saturday Up and Blink away until the boy wakes up and then I drag him off first to a cash point and then back home (too early for the Barbers). Watch an episode of Scooby Doo and then back to Guiseppe's where we both receive devils haircuts and indulge in inane barber conversations. It's the law, you have too. This by the way is a result of Bella who rides Shotgun with Gary Cal's taxi driver commenting to Monst that Cal is due a haircut. Mind you last time I was around her during a conversation it was the shotgun riders convention at the school where they were interested in an Art club for the potential naked models. Back home finish the news bits I'd missed, format it and back to Woolton because Cal has an appointment at the Opticians. I have an appointment at the post office, to post two parcels for Monst. She takes Cal to his appointment leaving me as the idiot taking the parcels that she has wrapped up with elastoplast and the sellotape deficit of the developing world into the post office. I can see all the old dears looking at the parcels and their thoughts, hopeless bloke when it comes to wrapping things. I want to yell, it wasn't me, I'm just the mug posting the things. Anyway they are despatched to the Isle of Man and Scotland according to their addresses, one to Helen and one to Kitty. Shop at Sainsbury's in preparation for the cooking of the quiche. This forms tea tonight for Monst and myself, Cal is fast asleep and we end up asking Lil to sit in with him while I take Monst to work. On return I find him awake so I feed him and we watch the footie, nice bonding sesh....... Technorati Tags: , , , ,

Tony Bastable V John Noakes

Waste half a day having to pick Cal up from Kirkby and having to transport him to the dental hospital to visit the dentist - it's a long story regarding the why's and wherefore's of his dentist being there, most of it involves the status conferred on him by his speech problems. Either way it's a pig for me every time he has an appointment because I have to trip to the other end of the city, get him out of school (a process which seems to take forever) and run the gauntlet of a pissed of Monst who has travelled into town to meet us, usually having benefitted from very little sleep having worked the night before. And so it is today, reach the school dead on time (having visited Maryland Street on the way to the school to drop off some boxes admittedly), take 10 minutes to get back on the road and arrive to find a hostile Monst because he has no time before the appointment at 3.30. Rest of the day, sorting some barcoding, some cataloguing etc. Usual stuff. Home via the Eagle and Child (as it is today) where we eat, pub grub at its most average. Cal goes to Beavers and I clean the living room in preparation for the England match. Go and fetch Cal who is Beaver of the week and has a trophy that looks to me like some sort of urn, maybe there's a sprinkling of dessicated Baden-Powell hidden deep within. So it reaches half time, my german defender plays a blinder and gains points earlier in the day, England are 1-0 up and the clean sheet is the important bit for me so hope they keep it up for the second half. Just as well really, slipped to third in the league, still trailing Ken and Christina is breathing down my neck, meanwhile Christina's dad was top of the league last night. Cracking goal for Joe Cole but Michael Owen looks to be badly hurt. Bring on Theo Walcott I say. Post match need to head to Asda.... deep joy, will the excitement never cease.... Which reminds me, big shout out for Coutts who we began using this year as a bookseller. More than a bit impressed so far...... Technorati Tags: , , , , , , ,
