The alarm goes at 5.00 am and the family rises, pours into the car and off to the land of Manc's airborn escape route. Drop the family and head staight back home because I'm expecting the cavity wall insulators and the man from Sky today. The man from Sky he comes first at around 11, in the interim there is much phoning trying to do the news etc , as I work from home.

The Sky engineer appears and sorts his stuff and is nearly finished by the time the insulators arrive. They require me to check the loft - boo! Lesson on using Sky. The drilling from the insulators drives me nuts. By three'ish I'm hungry and head to the supermarket, grab some bread and head home. Work on, set the Sky+ Box to record. Cook a fine chilli and enjoy eating it. More cataloguing, desperately trying to get to the bottom of the Cheshire and Merseyside E-Books.

Flying Fish Fiasco

Bibliography below is a snap to produce with Zotero (Ken have a good look at it you might find it handy) which describes itself as a free, easy-to-use Firefox extension to help you collect, manage, and cite your research sources straight from your browser. Comes out of the Center for History and New Media which looks like an interesting place to have more than a quick browse. Only downside is I've yet to share things cross machines but export and import should solve that issue easily. Does require Firefox 2.0 though but that seems to be working fine and looks good.

Day is a mixed bag of FoI, cataloguing, sorting our entry into the ILL pilot with Tracy during the lunchtime network slowdown. Throw in a coupla conversations with Shan, the odd mail headed down Sarf' and failed attempts to raise the land of Manc (a part of the world that I am convinced is not familiar with the term and use of that bizarre instrument known as the telephone!)

Manage to raise the people who can raise the people who are meant to be sorting the cavity wall insulation. They in turn raise Monst and she arranges for them to come the day that Murdoch's boys come to fit his dish and box. So a good day planned for me, airport and work from home with hopefully some fine cataloguing as a result.
